I named it Slow Bramble for a reason. I tend to dilly dally a lot with new ideas, everyday feels like baking in the test kitchen as I figure out where my career as a studio artist and teaching artist takes me. Though my time as the resident artist at Observable Universe is coming to an end (ending this summer), I’m still going all in, creating new workshops and teaching some of my favorites. Here is a round up of the workshops I taught from January 2025- April 2025

Back in January I hosted 3 workshops: Junk Journaling and Upcycle Jeans-Intro to Sewing on the Machine.

In February I taught: Wide Leg Pants- Intro to the Machine, and Intro- Screen Printing.

In March I taught: Another Upcycle Jeans Workshop, Sewing with Knits, and Visible Mending with Sashiko Workshop.

I had a lovely group of folks who joined me Beginner Sewing with Knit- Tee Shirts. 5 people of varying sewing experience, having a go at something pretty challenging, sewing with stretch fabrics on a regular home machine.

In April I’m teaching: Sewing on the Machine: Puff Sleeve Dress over 5 weeks, and Intro to Quilting: Improv Patchwork.

I teach a longer sewing course every season and we are half way through the Puff Sleeve Dress (pattern M#7969)

It has been so many things to teach sewing to my local community; humbling, joyful, challenging, and enriching! Sewing has brought me so much autonomy over the years, I am truly thrilled to be able to share this skill and joy with others!
